List of Pronouns

A pronoun is a word that is used to replace nouns in a sentence. They are mostly used to shorten the sentences and make the nouns less redundant for example, I, me, she, him, they, their, myself, etc. Let’s compare the following two sentences and understand the usage of pronouns.

1. John is an artist. John travels around the world and exhibits art. John says that making art is John’s passion.
2. John is an artist. He travels around the world and exhibits art. He says that making art is his passion.

Notice the use of the pronoun he, his instead of John repetitively has structured the sentence and made it easy for the reader as well.
